Beginners courses are hugely rewarding and great fun. They are also resource-hungry, diverting Run Leaders, Coaches, Admins and Scheduling resource away from regular club activities – but we wouldn’t be without them! The Beginners Lead(s) coordinate a lovely bunch of people to make each course amazing.

Role Involves:

  • Coordinate the beginners Course(s):
    • Planning, marketing, website content, liaison with PR & Active Cheshire / Run England;
    • Course admin (scheduling, course email enquiries, course bookings/joining instructions, registers & attendance data);
  • Lead run sessions on a Tuesday and/or Thursday, liaise with support runners & other run leaders to ensure adequate cover
  • Weekly newsletter to participants
  • Encourage participation at Parkrun & HL10K
  • Organise completion certificates / awards ceremony
  • Champion the needs of  ‘beginners’ or ‘returners’ in club meetings and discussions.

Note: Historically, Lymm Runners offers one Beginners Course each year. It starts early in January and ends with the High Legh 10K event in March.
