Welfare Officers: 
In summary, the Welfare Officer’s role is to help advise and support the club to implement welfare policies and procedures. In addition, they support the club in adhering to codes of conduct and good practice.
The club has two great welfare Officer who know and understand us well.
Female welfare officer is Kathryn, who can be contacted at womenswelfare@lymmrunners.org.uk
Male welfare officer is Jim who can be contacted at welfare@lymmrunners.org.uk
Role Involves:
- Promote safeguarding at the club and encourage good practice.
- Ensure volunteers have complied with the volunteer recruitment process.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain appropriate records of reported safeguarding concerns and any actions taken.
- Liaise with the EA Welfare Officer and/or statutory agencies if/when required.

Hello!
I’m Kathryn Ellis, The Lead Welfare Officer for Lymm Runners and also our female welfare officer. I started running in 2017 via the Beginners Course to try and keep up with my two kids, loved it and became a club Run Leader in 2019.
I am passionate about inclusion in sport and have been a Welfare Officer since 2021.
I have completed the following English Athletics training for my role; Safeguarding, Time to Listen, Adult Welfare, Run Leader further development day (including inclusion in sport session), Club Matters ‘A Club for Everyone’, and I also hold a current DBS.
