The Treasurer role is key to any club; responsibilities range from stock control of club’s assets to the preparation of financial statements for review at meetings.

Accounting or bookkeeping skills are welcome in this role but are not a  prerequisite. The Treasurer does need to liaise with others (just about everybody actually), especially our Membership Secretary and Kit Coordinator.

Role Involves:

• Check the bank & paypal account regularly.
• Liaise with Membership Secretary to help ensure membership records are updated.
• Apply & pay for EA (England Athletics) affiliation for members who elect to subscribe to it.
• Liaise with Kit Coordinator when anyone makes a payment for kit.
• Pay any invoices for Lymm Runners using bank transfer.
• Reimburse expenses for anyone who has incurred costs. (Receipts should be kept).
• Chase any missing invoices.
• Bank any cash/payments received.
• Record all financial activity for the club such as income & expenses.
• Reconcile the bank & paypal statements monthly.
• Make sure petty cash is accounted for.
• Check we have have received any money owing to the club, such as reimbursement for refreshments at Cross Country, High Legh Expenses, and Active Cheshire.
• Check final figures for club events, such as Warrington Way, Santa Dash etc.
• Year End – ensure all the figures add up & balance! Create treasures report & balance sheet; deliver a summary report at AGM; present records for audit.
