Manchester Half Marathon

Last week, the Manchester Half Marathon took place and we were thrilled to have several members representing our club. Max stood out as he led the club to the finish line and set a new club record. Additionally, both Phil and Ian set new club records. Phil’s achievement was particularly noteworthy as he reached a Platinum standard, a first for any club member in the Half Marathon distance. Max, Ian, and Jon also reached a Gold standard, showcasing their dedication and skill.

Despite challenging windy conditions, our runners participated in the Green Drive 5M race and the Yorkshire Marathon this past Sunday. Carolyn made an impressive mark at the Green Drive 5M by setting a new age category club record, while both Carolyn and Martin achieved personal bests. At the Yorkshire Marathon, Fae, Michelle, and Georgina all achieved a Silver standard, demonstrating their resilience and determination.

To cap off our recent events, the club organized an away day at the Malahide parkrun in Dublin, which was a great success with a strong turnout. Neil led the club to the finish line and Rachel was first lady home for us.
