Group Runs (Various distances & paces)

8.30am – Lymm Library Meet at the Library (Davies Way car park) .

Whether you fancy a gentle jog of a few miles, or a quicker pace and a longer distance, all groups meet and set off from 8.30am at Lymm Library.

We try to offer different distances; the longer route is 10-12 miles and is out for 2 hours; shorter routes (4 or 6 miles) are out for just over an hour.

1) Long Faster Run

Typically 11-12 miles. We run for just under two hours and the pace is typically 9 to 10 minute/miles.

2) Long Medium Run

Normally around 10 miles in two hours - pace between 10 - 12 minute/miles

3) Long Slow Run

Again an approx two hour run, typically around 8.5 miles.

4) Six Miler

Routes vary but are about 6 miles. We run for 1+ hours and the pace is typically 9 to 11 minute/miles.

5) Wounded Warthog Run

A slower paced run with plenty of recovery breaks for those who prefer to run gently, or are new to running or returning from injury.

The distance on this run varies but always includes an initial 4 mile loop. Details of the distance available each week will be posted on our Facebook group (link below) ahead of the run itself.

Details of the route and distance of the all the above runs and any changes will normally be available each week posted on our Facebook group.

Accommodating Different Abilities

All running clubs comprise runners of differing speed and endurance. Our sessions accommodate a mix of abilities and sessions are structured so that whatever your fitness level you will be encouraged to train well and have the opportunity for self-challenge.

When Running in a group…

  • Wear something bright and reflective on evening sessions and/or when the weather is poor.
  • Advisable to have either an ICE band or next of kin contact details with you in case of accident.
  • Stay off the road (and ON the pavements!) where possible, many Lymm roads are narrow and poorly lit. Your safety is paramount.
  • Look out for each other, run in small groups with similar pace.
  • Be ever aware of oncoming traffic in both directions.
  • Be conscious of the slower/lesser experienced runners who may need a suitable recovery break.
  • Run Group Mustering – all run groups will muster; the run leader will set various mustering points, faster runners reach the point and then run back and stay behind the last runner to enable the group to stay together as they reach the muster point.
  • Welcome new faces and say hello to those you don’t know yet.
  • Ad-hoc runs are arranged on a casual basis between members. Use the club's Facebook members page to post for training partners and additional sessions.
  • Don’t hesitate to contact us for further details.
