Not a nice thought, but medical incidents can happen to any of us - anywhere. Accidents and emergencies are rare, but they can (and do!) occur. In our 15 year history there have been a few occasions when our Run Leaders or Coaches have had to call for emergency help.
Having our emergency contact info instantly available (along with any medical conditions) is a key way we can help all First Aiders in the rare event of a medical incident (including our Run Leaders or Coaches).
in Case of Emergency (ICE) data allows nominated people to be phoned in the event of a serious incident, and your health data may help Emergency Services deal with your specific medical needs much faster.
There are many ways ICE and Health data can be kept with you so it’s available if ever needed. Lymm Runners asks ALL runners to carry their ICE data every time you take part in a club session or event. Ideally, this would be in the form of a visible ICE band or tag, but we recommend utilising as many ways as possible to ensure this information is always available.

Bands are worn on your wrist. There are many suppliers available (or you could make your own!).
Parkrun offer them: https://shop.parkrun.com/products/parkrun-wristband
Tags can be attached to shoes, bags or key rings. Example: https://shop.parkrun.com/collections/cards-tags

All smartphones allow the storage of ICE contacts and health data that can be easily accessed from the lock screen of your phone.
iphone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208076
Android: https://support.google.com/android/answer/9319337
(This data can also help someone contact you if your phone is lost).

Simply carrying a piece of card or paper in your pocket with your ICE data on it could help. And if you protected it with clear plastic, it will remain readable for longer.
You can write on a wide rubber band or silicone bracelet with a permanent marker to create a practical home-made ICE band.
All members of Lymm Runners have an entry on the EA database (regardless of whether you are a registered UKA/EA member ).
Your profile has fields for ICE contact and health data. This information can be accessed by some of our club officials if it’s ever required.
Lymm Runners don’t maintain this data, but you can add/update/delete it via the EA portal to ensure its up-to-date.
