“Well that was a marathon! Managed quite well from the start, weather was good, no rain but wind in places… the first two climbs where manageable, enjoying the long descents. Reached half way in good form and continued going well till the last hill which was a killer. I was looking forward to the last mile which was downhill into Llamberis but the pain on each knee was not fun. My carb loading seemed to pay off as ‘the wall’ didn’t arrive my time was 3hr 19.39. Came home 87 and 23rd in age group so happy all round. I would recommend it but never again for me :-)”
