This years Twelve Days of Christmas will be different. Most of the old favourites are in there, but will need to run differently to keep us all safe ( NB – small changes to account for Tier 3 )
All lead Runs are bookable events ( links will be published below closer to the time )
COVID Restrictions have been placed on the club’s training activities and the following information is based on England Athletics, UKA and national Government guidance. The arrangements listed below are subject to change at a moments notice if that guidance should change and it is the responsibility of all club athletes to abide by these and specified club policies to enable training sessions to commence and continue.
Athlete Guidance and Processes
The following guidance on club policies and processes are primarily to ensure the safety of all participants and the wider community of Lymm and MUST be adhered to at times. Lymm Runners have responsibilities to club members, Lymm residents and the integrity of the sport to ensure to prevent the further spread of the Covid19 virus. A full risk assessment has been produced and a COVID Officer has been appointed, he can be contacted via email at covid@lymmrunners.org.uk for further advice, guidance or concerns about any aspect of club activities at this time.
For club athletes wishing to attend any current club session, must attend under these conditions:
- Only participate after making a successful booking through the Eventframe links provided below. Both declarations on the booking link must be acknowledged at the time of booking.
- Session booking links will be published weekly at some point each Monday on a first-come-first-served basis. Book only what you know you can attend and send an email to COVID@LYMMRUNNERS.ORG.UK to cancel at any time if circumstances change to allow another athlete to take advantage of the available place.
- Numbers are severely restricted on guidance from UKA and cannot be changed under any circumstances. The initial group size is being limited to 8 + run leader. This will be increased to 12 if the initial processes are adhered to and logistics are successful in the first few weeks of being trialled.
- When booking, ensure you book the correct run distance and paced group, note your meeting point and time – as there are slight changes.
- Arrive ready to run with a mask/buff – this is not required to be worn unless 2m social distancing is not possible in any given circumstance. There will be no facilities available, even at the Leisure Centre.
- Social distancing of 2m + is mandatory and MUST be adhered to at all times. This includes pre, during and post-run. The group must disperse promptly at the end of the session.
- Social distancing also includes being mindful and respectful of general members of the public in any given situation. It is the responsibility of each athlete to be aware of pedestrians, other runners, walkers, etc and be prepared to move to a position that ensure your own and their safety – even if you have to stop in a safe location to allow them to pass.
- The Run Leader of each group will check names against those who have made an official booking through the Eventframe system and check each athlete has a mask/buff. Under no circumstances will an athlete be allowed to join a group if their name is not present on the active list of attendees on the relevant event on Eventframe.
- Run Leaders will carry hand sanitiser, mask and basic first aid kit. If an accident occurs then he/she is instructed to allow the injured athlete to self-administer if possible. If this is not possible, then the absolute minimum contact will be used with face-covering according to the situation, more serious accidents may require a 999 call under normal procedures. All contact must be kept to a minimum under these circumstances.
- Run Leaders will not know all athlete’s personal “bubbles” therefore they are not able to individually dictate social-distancing rules. It is the responsibility of each athlete to adhere to the 2m at all times.
- If you develop COVID19 symptoms within 48hours of attending a club session, you are requested to receive a Covid test. If positive, you will be contacted by the Government’s Track and Trace system and directed to the contact tracing website, where you will be required to give details of who you have been in close contact with during the previous 48 hours. If this includes a group run, advise Track and Trace that they can obtain a list of the other runners in your group by emailing covid@lymmrunners.org.uk The club will respond for any information requested from this service of session attendees. This is the only circumstances where your personal information from the booking will be released via our Covid Officer.
We are in testing times and we hope these restrictions will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do so. Club training sessions can only occur under these guidelines and can be withdrawn if circumstances dictate.
