Key Club Roles
As a club, Lymm Runners could not exist without the energy and commitment of a great team of people.
Some roles are specified as must-haves by England Athletics (EA), and suggested responsibilities are outlined by the EA. Other club roles have developed from someone stepping in when they have seen that a job needs doing. Each one is key to maintaining the club that we know and love.
Volunteering to take on one of these roles is not a lifelong commitment. Nor does it have to be done single-handedly. If you want to learn a bit more about possibly getting involved, please talk to any of us…
EA has a framework of standards required of affiliated clubs and describe what's involved for some of the key club roles. The EA provide guidelines and resources for volunteers taking on such roles - and in some cases they offer online or practical training courses too.
For example:
(Welfare Officer, Treasurer, Club Secretary, Membership Secretary, Chair etc.)

Lymm Runners organise fantastic events each year including:
We need new people to get involved to share the load and help secure the future of these events (or to add new ones!).
EA offers Race Director training and support, and we have a wealth of experience to share. If you could help - please let us know.

Our Club Welfare Officers are vital and they care passionately about supporting us all.

To ensure the role remains do-able, and to ensure continuity, we
adopt a 3 year cycle for our club Chair role.
This means at any one time, the club has an Incoming Chair, a Current Chair, and an Outgoing Chair – and overall club responsibity is shared.
