5km FUN RUN

DICKENSIAN DAY SATURDAY 9th DECEMBER 1.00pm

2017 Runners Instructions

2016 was our biggest Dash yet!

250 Santas dashing through the village with the 1000s of onlookers lining the pavements!

Lymm Santa Dash StartThe Lymm Runners Santa Dash is now an established fixture on the Lymm Dickensian Day celebration. We open the parade in a colourful flash of red and white. Now in its 4th year, the Fun Run creates such a buzz at the start of the procession as we take the applause from the crowds who line the pavements each year to support this long established event. Entry is open to Fun Runners aged 10+ capable of completing the 5km course.

The start is outside Brookfield Surgery on the canal bridge and we will lead off the Main DICKENSIAN DAY Procession down Eagle Brow and through the heart of the village. It’s a real experience! It is a Fun Run rather than a “race” so you are encouraged to jog down Eagle Brow and through the village to really take-in and enjoy the special atmosphere for a unique run experience.

You will be given a special Santa Suit as part of your entry fee so everyone will be dressed for the occasion. Wear some running gear underneath as you have 5km to run; thru the village to the Trans Pennine Trail to Heatley and back along Reddish Lane. The route can be viewed on our MapMyRun route map. The finish line is at Sow Brook where you will receive your finishers souvenir and it is a short walk from there back to the village to take part in the rest of the Dickensian Day festivities.

RUN EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS:

Keeping in the spirit of the Dickensian Day, the Lymm Runners Santa Dash aims to make sport equipment donations to the local Lymm Primary Schools to support and help in the development of junior running in the local community. We have donated a bag full of training kit to Cherry Tree & Statham Primary Schools, supplied race kit for Cherry Tree Cross Country Team and provided sport play equipment to Little Bollington CP School. If your school could benefit from acquiring some athletic training kit then get in touch with Chris, Chief Santa on chris@lymmrunners.org.uk.
