About us

About Us Club Constitution Key Roles Get Involved!

Established in February 2010, we are affiliated to England Athletics (UKA) and enjoy racing and running for fitness & pleasure.

We are a friendly club with an aim to promote running for fun, fitness and competition in the Lymm area. So whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner we will always give you a warm welcome and offer you tons of encouragement.  Membership is open to runners aged 18 and over and there is absolutely no maximum age limit!

We have training sessions on 4 days of the week:
Please Note: stated distances are (very) approximate and all groups will muster. This is where faster runners/walkers power ahead, then periodically turn and muster back. It means the group stays together whilst each participant will exercise at their own level.

  • Tuesday session offers a choice; a track session that concentrates on speed and strength work (it’s not as grim as it sounds – honest!); or a social whistle run (SWR) that offers a friendly, group run of about 4 miles.
  • Wednesday morning session is a gentle social 4 mile run with an optional finish at the local coffee shop.
  • Thursday focuses on road running. We run for an hour; you join a distance group of your choice (4 – 7.5 miles)
We also offer a power walking group – routes vary but typically cover a minimum of 3.5 miles in about an hour.
  • Sunday morning runs give you the opportunity to run over a longer distance across Lymm and the lovely surrounding areas (typically, routes offered are 10-11 miles and a 6 mile option).

We organise a number of successful races throughout the year which includes the High Legh 10K, The Lymm Festival Trail Races* & Fun Run, Warrington Way 40 and the Lymm Dickensian Santa Dash.

Becoming a member of Lymm Runners also allows you to take part in the North West Cross Country League (Sunday mornings, Winter season), an opportunity to represent the club and get muddy in the process… what could be nicer!?

In addition to maintaining our website here, we have a Facebook Group for club members where we communicate what’s on; which races we are off to, lifts to share, news about training sessions – and occasional social events too.

But you don’t need to become a member straight away – come along to a couple of sessions first. If you decide it’s not for you that’s fine. Just turn up and say hello…. who knows what fun you might have!

*we are unable to offer the Lymm Festival Trail Races in 2022
